The aim of the Suffolk Health and Wellbeing Board is to improve health and decrease inequalities. The Board wants to ensure that those in Suffolk live long, fulfilling and healthy lives and to see a narrowing of the health inequalities between our affluent and poorer areas. We will know that we have been successful by seeing increased healthy life expectancy and a reduction in the differences in life expectancy and healthy life expectancy between communities in Suffolk.
As part of the Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy (JHWS), the Board originally agreed four strategic outcomes based on information from the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA). These formed the first iteration of the Joint Health and Wellbeing `Strategy.
New for 2025!
Mid-Strategy Review: Joint Local Health and Wellbeing Strategy
Suffolk’s Joint Local Health and Wellbeing Strategy (JLHWS) has reached its mid-point. This review, approved by Suffolk's Health and Wellbeing Board in July 2025, reaffirms our shared priorities—mental health, children and young people, good work and health—and introduces 'ageing well' as a new priority. The review reaffirms the strategy’s vision and embeds 'listen and engage with local voices' as a core approach.
The strategy review reflects on progress, renews our commitment, and ensures the strategy remains responsive to local needs through to 2027.

This dashboard brings to life the priorities set out in our 2022–2027 strategy, Preparing for the Future. It provides a view of how we are working together to improve health outcomes, reduce inequalities, and support wellbeing across the county.
Explore the data, track shared priorities, and see the progress Suffolk is making towards building a healthier, more resilient future for everyone.
This is an initial refresh of the dashboard, and we are looking to undertake a more thorough review and redesign in winter 2025. To help shape this, please have a look at the current dashboard below and tell us what you think!
