Supplementary Statement to Suffolk Health and Wellbeing Board’s Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment

The regulations state that Supplementary Statements can provide updates to the Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment only in relation to changes in the availability of pharmaceutical services. Supplementary Statements cannot provide updates on pharmaceutical need. This can only be achieved through a review of the Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment. The following pharmaceutical services currently contained within the Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment have been identified as needing updating. This updated information supersedes some of the original information within the PNA and should be read in conjunction with that document.

Change to opening hours

The following pharmacy has changed their overall opening hours. All other services remain the same:

Day Lewis PLC, t/a Day Lewis Pharmacy, 26 Hening Avenue, Ipswich, IP3 9QJ

Previous overall opening hours (including supplementary hours):

  • Monday to Friday: 08:30-18:30
  • Saturday: 09:00-13:00
  • Sunday: closed

New overall opening hours, including supplementary hours (with effect from 1st August 2020):

  • Monday to Friday: 08:30-18:00
  • Saturday: 09:00-13:00
  • Sunday: closed

Change of ownership

  • Tanvir Mohammed has taken over ownership of the pharmacy at 119 Bramford Road, Ipswich, IP1 2LW. The pharmacy will continue to trade as Barbour Pharmacy. Effective date of commencement 1st July 2020.

Removal from the pharmaceutical list – ceased trading

  • Boots UK Ltd, t/a Boots, Oulton Village Medical Centre, Meadow Road, Lowestoft, Suffolk,NR32 3AZ will cease to provide pharmaceutical services on 1st August 2020 and will be removed from the pharmaceutical list for the area of Suffolk Health and Wellbeing Board with effect from that date.

Consolidation of pharmacies - completed

  • It is noted that Boots UK Ltd, have now completed their consolidation of two of their sites onto one site. The remaining site will be 31 High Street, Hadleigh, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP7 5AF and the closing site will be 91 High Street, Hadleigh, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP7 5EA. The remaining pharmacy will continue to provide all those services which were previously provided from the two sites. Effective date of commencement 16th August 2020.
  • Suffolk HWB concludes that the consolidation will not create a gap in pharmaceutical services that could be met by a routine application (a) to meet a current need or future need for pharmaceutical services, or (b) to secure improvements, or better access to, pharmaceutical services.
