Safer Sleep
Providing a safe sleeping environment for your baby.
The Suffolk Health and Wellbeing Board and its partners are championing a simple set of safer sleep messages that will minimise risk and give parents greater peace of mind.
Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS - Often referred to as Cot Death) accounts for 300 infant deaths each year in the UK. Each of these deaths is a tragic, unexpected loss for a family and the cause or explanation is often unclear.
The steps we are promoting were compiled by The Lullaby Trust who provide specialist support for bereaved families, provide expert advice on safer sleeping for babies and raise awareness on SIDS.
