Drug and Alcohol support for Children and Young People

Are you a young person who needs some help with your alcohol and/or drug use?

Turning Point's Youth Service is here to help you, and will never judge you.

The Turning Point team work with those up to 25 to support you to make positive and informed choices around your substance use. They will meet you wherever is best for you; school, college, your home or even a cafe, whatever feels most comfortable.

To access support from the youth team you just need to:

  • be using or have recently been using drugs or alcohol
  • be willing to work with them!

In return your named keyworker will provide:

  • Non-judgemental and confidential service
  • 1:1 sessions
  • Outreach service
  • Drug and Alcohol education
  • Space to talk things through
  • Up to date and factual information and advice
  • Help with deciding what changes to make
  • Support to cut down or quit and gain control
  • A revitalised shared care service
  • Access to other services which can support you
  • A support plan that looks at all of you, not just your substance use

Are you a professional concerned about the drug or alcohol use of a young person?

Turning Point Suffolk use the Drug Use Screening Tool (DUST); a screening tool which can be used by anyone working with a young person whose drug or alcohol use you are concerned about. The DUST helps to establish what course of action you should take in relation to the young person's drug or alcohol use, and can be used to refer the young person into the Turning Point Young People's service.

Find out more about the DUST and how to complete it, on the Drug Use Screening Tool web page (internal web page).
