 'Everyone can recover
 Not everyone will
 We don't know who
 We don't know when
But we will give everyone every chance'

 - Adapted quote from Mark Gilman, Public Health England

What is 'Recovery'?

There are many different definitions of recovery available and each person's recovery journey is unique. Essentially recovery is freedom from drug and/ or alcohol dependency and every step taken to gain that freedom and keep it. This can include drug and alcohol treatment services, counselling and group activities, gaining training and employment, and building social networks.

Suffolk Drug and Alcohol Recovery Network Forums

Suffolk has a large and varied recovery community, there are many treatment and support services across the county with a willingness to work together to help as many people recover as possible.

The Suffolk Drug and Alcohol Recovery Network Forums are held three times a year and are an opportunity for professionals working with anyone with drug and alcohol dependency or in recovery, to network, share good practice and provide updates about the services available.

The Suffolk Dual Diagnosis Forum was merged into the Suffolk Drug and Alcohol Recovery Network Forum in 2018. Dual Diagnosis is raised alongside communication between organisations as a priority for the Recovery Network to focus their attention on so merging the two forums and both groups of expertise seemed like a logical step.

The forums are managed by Fran Catchpole, who works with the drug and alcohol treatment commissioners to provide the link between Public Health and service providers, wider partners and local communities for drug and alcohol recovery. Fran is responsible for coordinating the recovery forum events, and the Recovery Grant Scheme, and developing projects to ensure the best possible recovery journey for drug and alcohol clients.

If you would like to be part of the Drug and Alcohol Recovery Network forum mailing list to receive up to date recovery news and invitations to attend the forums then please contact or call 01473 260777
